What happened to AltaVista search website, why does it look drastically degraded today?
AltaVista has been my favorite Search Engine for years, now today it reverts to Yahoo search, nowhere near as good. A skeleton webpage is up, but even there you can see that the Image Tab search is gone. The Audio search tab was removed in about 2007. Now AltaVista as we knew it is gone for all intents and purposes? To me, this is the saddest thing on the Internet since the WhatsNewToo search engine disappeared in 2000. And nobody noticed?
No I never noticed, I havent used AltaVista for years and years now, I only do general browsing, so Yahoo works just fine as a search engine for me.
